When I Look At Your Heavens

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5, ESV)

Mini Devotional

A mini message to take with you this week to help you in your devotion to God.

WHEN I LOOK AT YOUR HEAVENS
Devotional by: Elijah Bell

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” (Psalm 8:3-4, ESV)

When we consider the vastness of space, and the immense number and size of the stars, planets, and galaxies, it seems unfathomable that the same God who created them would have any concern for us at all, we, mere dust floating in the Master Artist’s workshop that is God’s universe. But we among His creation are His crown jewel, for He died for us and no other part of His creation. How will you worship God today to show your appreciation of His kindness for you?

This Sunday we have a great opportunity to worship God along with many other of His children. It’s Great Day In May on Sunday, meaning we’ll have more people in attendance than we usually do. Let’s join together to worship God in Spirit and Truth this Sunday! We hope to see you there!

How You Can Serve

There are a lot of ways you can get involved and do the work of God in our community!

For more information or for help signing up for any of these ministries, please call the church office at: (502) 227-7796.

Limited-Time Opportunities:

  • Bring A Side And/Or Dessert For Great Day In May This Sunday
The meal for Great Day In May this upcoming Sunday will be a pot-luck style meal. The meat for the meal is being provided, so don’t worry about that, but we still need sides and desserts. We aren’t sure how many people will be in attendance, but we are expecting and preparing for a full house. Please bring what you can, and be ready to share. We are excited to see you there on Sunday!

  • In-Home Small Group Hosts Or Facilitators Needed Before May
We need people to volunteer to host or facilitate one of the in-home small groups, which will be taking place as part of our revitalized Sunday evening activities. It would be once a month. To host, you only need to open up your home for a group of about 8-12 people. If you can facilitate a study, that means you’ll be the one showing the devotional video provided to you by one of the ministers, and helping to guide the discussion using the discussion questions provided.
Please contact Nick Gill if you are able to help with either or both of these.

  • Volunteers To Provide Childcare During Marriage Seminar
As of right now, we only have one or two people signed up for watching kids during the marriage seminar. We plan to have many couples here from the community that may need childcare. Please let Kurt know if you can help!

Bible Class Review

A summary of what we’ve been learning about in our adult Bible classes.

Sunday Morning Class (10am):

Current Class: Making Disciples the Jesus Way. We are currently talking about principles for ministering to people who have yet responded to Jesus’ challenge to “come and see.” These are people who may very well come to Jesus, but they need a prepared Jesus follower to enter into their life relationally. We are discussing how we can be those prepared Jesus followers.

Wednesday Evening Class (6:30pm):

Current Class: I and We: Practical Steps In Living Out Our Vision And Mission. In the class last night, we continued from last week talking about how Jesus never disregarded people on the margins of society, and how we must embrace people on the margins. The church is made up of, and for, the people who are marginalized by the world. This is another example of things we’re being encouraged to do in this class that help us live our vision and mission together as a church family.
