Who Shall Dwell On Your Holy Hill?

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5, ESV)

Mini Devotional

A mini message to take with you this week to help you in your devotion to God.

WHO SHALL DWELL ON YOUR HOLY HILL?
Devotional by: Elijah Bell

O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart;” (Psalm 15:1–2, ESV)

Unfortunately, none of us have been able to do these things perfectly. The only One who was ever TRULY able to dwell on God’s holy hill in His own right climbed it’s rocky face with a bloodstained crown of thorns and tattered garment on His back so that we too might one day be able to climb the true holy hill of Zion with a crown of glory on our heads, and a priestly robe on our backs. Only because of the righteousness we find in Christ will we be able to “never be moved” (v. 5). Are you thankful for Christ allowing you to dwell on God’s holy hill?

This week we have a lot to be thankful for. Our Great Day In May was a wonderful success this past Sunday! We also got to watch and listen to a video message of hope from the elders of the congregation about the bright future of Holly Hill. There truly is much to be grateful for. But the greatest blessing of all is the one that we so often take for granted—that Jesus suffered in our place so that we don’t have to. Let’s be excited about everything that’s happening at Holly Hill right now, but let’s always make sure to be thankful for the amazing blessing of King Jesus climbing that hill!

How You Can Serve

There are a lot of ways you can get involved and do the work of God in our community!

For more information or for help signing up for any of these ministries, please call the church office at: (502) 227-7796.

Limited-Time Opportunities:

  • In-Home Small Group Hosts Or Facilitators Needed Before May
We need people to volunteer to host or facilitate one of the in-home small groups, which will be taking place as part of our revitalized Sunday evening activities. It would be once a month. To host, you only need to open up your home for a group of about 8-12 people. If you can facilitate a study, that means you’ll be the one showing the devotional video provided to you by one of the ministers, and helping to guide the discussion using the discussion questions provided.
Please contact Nick Gill if you are able to help with either or both of these.

  • Volunteers To Provide Childcare During Marriage Seminar
As of right now, we only have one or two people signed up for watching kids during the marriage seminar. We plan to have many couples here from the community that may need childcare. Please let Kurt know if you can help!

Bible Class Review

A summary of what we’ve been learning about in our adult Bible classes.

Sunday Morning Class (10am):

Current Class: Making Disciples the Jesus Way. We have just finished up our section of the class on how to minister to people in chair 1, that is, people who have yet responded to Jesus challenge to “come and see.” Now we are about to begin part 2 of the class, which is on how we can move from chair 2 to chair 3, and look at biblical ways we can do that, as well as how to help other people move forward into the fullness of Christ as well.

Wednesday Evening Class (6:30pm):

Current Class: I and We: Practical Steps In Living Out Our Vision And Mission. Last night, the class was spent talking about the video message that was released by the elders on Monday. We talked about the need for disciple making, and how the elders emphasized that as the goal of the congregation, and how everyone needs to be involved. We discussed several ways to be better at making disciples.
