Do You Have The Faith Of A Centurion?
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5, ESV)

Do you have the faith of a centurion? His servant was at home, dying, and Jesus offered to come into his home and heal his servant.
Matthew 8:8 (ESV) — ”But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed.”
He had faith that Jesus’ power would still be at work, even if he didn’t personally SEE it with his own eyes. We too often tend to be like Thomas, who refused to believe that Jesus rose from the dead until he saw it with our own eyes.
John 20:25 — So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
Do we sometimes doubt Jesus is at work in our lives if we don’t see the results immediately, and with our own eyes? JUST BECAUSE WE DON’T SEE THE POWER OF JESUS WITH OUR EYES, DOESN’T MEAN HE IS NOT AT WORK! Jesus said to Thomas, “blessed are those who have not seen, and yet still believe” (John 20:29). And because the centurion believed even without seeing, Jesus said of him, “truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith” (Matthew 8:10).
What would Jesus say about our faith? Would He marvel at our faith like He did the Centurion’s? Or would He rebuke our lack of faith, like He did to Thomas? Do you believe that the power of Jesus is at work, even though you can’t see it with your own eyes? Do you have the faith of a centurion?
Evaluate your level of faith in Jesus — How much faith do you have? Dp you have the faith of the centurion? How can you act this week in a way that aligns with a greater faith in Jesus?
Pray for more faith — God promises to give good things to those who ask (Matthew 7:11). What better thing can we give to God than greater faith in Him? In every prayer this week, make sure to ask for greater faith.
Start making decisions based on your level of faith in Jesus — We all make many choices every day. Start making decisions that show you have total faith in who Jesus is and what he is able to do. What would you change about your life if you suddenly had a boost in faith? Make those changes now!
